Kayla

So much has been going on these past few days. Life has been a whirlwind and a mix of ups and downs. Today I was planning on doing a recap of my weekend but, that can wait. Today...today I just wanted to write about one of my very best friends in this world. Because today, 29 years ago, is the day she was born.
One of our football games as juniors

I didn't know anyone but my boyfriend when I went to college. And there I was in a dorm of over 700 girls, all of them strangers. Kayla lived two doors down from me but I remembered her from a game we played our first night in the dorm. All 60 of us on our hall crammed into the hallway in front of the elevator and we had to go around and say an adjective with the same letter of our first name and our name. And I remember Kayla because, a midst a plethora of "cool carly's," "awesome amy's" and "beautiful brandy's"....she introduced herself as "Kooky Kayla."
 Kayla's Bachelorette Party

It wasn't until a few weeks later that we found ourselves on a Sunday morning, the sole two residents on the front lobby bench, waiting on our boyfriends to pick us up for church. We started chit-chatting and realized we had the most eerily similar lives ever. Of all time. And from that moment on, we were best friends.

We have spent hours laughing together, crying together, celebrating life together. And today I celebrate her!
Kayla's First Mother's Day

I don't know what I'd do without you. So very happy you were born.

XO, A

college friends have a way of sneaking in our lives and staying in our hearts forever. my "growing up" bffs have their own space, but something about college friends who actually help us "grow up" makes them even more special. happy birthday to your friend :) ps-- thank you for your sweet comment on an old post hte other day. it actually came at a time that i needed to be reminded of it again (that was God's doing, i assume). and please follow along with my NEW blog! www.domesticallydisabledblog.com
