The Globes...they happened...naturally we have to talk about the fashion. I don't even really watch the shows themselves anymore but I will TiVo a red carpet any day.
Julie Bowen - Sure she could wear this to an old lady's red hat club but, with her hair and makeup, I just love this look. I think it's so different from the usual gown but still so chic and event appropriate.
Olivia Wilde - Yes, she does look like she's channeling the Great OZ, but to be pregnant and be able to pull of that many sequins, that well....deserves an award. This was one of my top three favorites.
Emma Watson - Stellar. I mean, I am slow-motion-applauding right now. I think she may be the most naturally gorgeous person on the face of the planet. And this might be my #1 runner up look. I want to own this....and then I want to have some place to wear it.
Kate Beckinsale... I love this gown. So interesting and figure-flattering. I think this dress probably says "va-va-voom" when you pull it out of the box.
Taylor Swift - I'm a little indifferent about this look. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I like the straight hair/sexy look she's been doing lately so I'm not as big a fan of this retro do.
Emma Roberts - Well, out of the Roberts family, Emma definitely won best dressed and while I think the cut is a little Ursula of the Sea, I think the top is super flattering and shows off her teeensy waist!
Sofia Vergaro - Ever so slightly different than what we usually see her in but despite the 90 billion yards of fabric, all I still see are boooobs.
Julia Roberts...When in the history of fashion has it ever been acceptable to pair a button up work shirt underneath a ball gown? I mean, that's just silly.
Jennifer Lawrence - Here's a great idea....let's take a woman's typical trouble area...you know, butt, thighs, tummy....and put rubberbands around to accentuate them......said no designer ever. God bless J-La for having an amazing personality to overcome this coffee-filter dress.
Reese Witherspoon - One of my favorite actresses but, in the words of Joan Rivers, it's the first full-length sports bra. Amen Joan....amen.
Zoe Saldana - Could a dress be more of a hot mess? I mean the mismatched, asymmetrical fabrics, the shoulder straps, the sequins and froo froos....it's a shame this dress probably costs more than my annual income.
Drew Barrymore - I used to have a bedspread that looked just like this....when I was 7.
Zoey Deschanel - Someone really needs to explain the difference between "quirky" and playing in Grandma's closet.
Lena Dunham - I just want to take a deep breath for her
But not to end on a sour note, I've saved the best for last....my favorite of the night...was in, fact not a celebrity, it was Catt Sadler from E! News. I mean, this dress is simply breathtaking.
Who did you love? Who did you hate?
Fashion is so fun!
