Identifying "It"

I finally put my finger on it.
"It" being the reason I'm not as in love with fall as seemingly the rest of the world these days
Sure I love the feeling of stepping out into the crisp air
The thought of cozy chevron sweaters slightly intrigues me
and who can deny the endless fun of pumpkin carving?

But I'm a doer
And by "doer" I mean "horrible relaxer"
So with colder fall and eventually winter days taking over our longer sunshiney days....things like pool and lake and beach and outdoor runs are replaced with hours of cold. And just what do you do with all those cold hours?!

So to remedy my bye-bye-summer-blues, I've come up with some fun activities.....a Fall Bucket List if you will...

Hay Rides & Pumpkin Carving
Hay Ride
Go to a local high school football game

Go hiking

Halloween Party
Smores & Movie night

But What I realllly want to know is, how you all spend your fall days?
What are some of the activities you pass the time enjoy doing when the temps start to cool off?

Ok fall....I think I'm ready for you....ish

Ashley can I do those activities with you? At least the smore and movie night? : ) Fall is my favorite. You should adding running in the leaves, having a bonfire, drinking lots of apple cider!

I agree! What the heck are you supposed to do on the weekends if you can't go on the boat/go to the pool??

I love hiking in the fall - we have several state/metro parks near my home and beautiful doesn't even begin to give the views justice!

My kids - like you - want Smores made over our chimnea. I certainly do not mind this at all either ;)

I also spend most Sunday's playing Bingo - since I'm not a huge football fan. LOL

LOVE the smores and movie night idea!

Girl I'm so with you, I get so bored in the winter. NO one is doing anything and it's cold so I dont want to be outside.

I live for random summer golf outings, bbqs, pool excursions.

Early fall is fun, but then it's cold.

I play scrabble inside alot and try to attend fall festivals in the area.

I am horrible at relaxing as well! I try to get caught up on some projects around the house and we of course watch enough football for a decade!

Great list! This is so funny because it's kinda the opposite here in AZ...our "fall/winters" are so mild so that's the time when everyone looks forward to being outdoors. Our summers are when it's waaaay to hot to doing anything fun! Fall for me includes working out outdoors, hiking, football games, camping, the state fair, beer festivals :) etc!

Oh girl, I am with you! Everyone is so excited that fall is here and I just keep trying to not be sad that summer is over. I am going to miss the beach and constant sunshine. But like you, I am trying to focus on the good things about fall. :)

I am all about football season! So excited that it has finally started. That is the main reason I love fall. Well, that and wearing leather. I love leather.

Loving these ideas!
In the fall I love driving through cottage country checking out the turning leaves, bonfires, carving pumpkins, checking out the last of the farmers markets. I've always wanted to do a corn maze but I just haven't made it to one yet!

I can totally relate with this. I dread the cooler weather because I absolutely love spending time outside and that is severely limited during the colder months. I hope to squeeze in some football games, hiking, and camping this Fall!

They don't really seem to carve pumpkins around these parts so I think I need to change that :)

I so want to do a hay ride and pumpkin patch! Unfortunately, in Houston you have to go out to the burbs to find those things and I am not a fan of the burbs. I might have to force myself this year!
