Fall Essentials - West Coast

Remember when I said I was only friends with Ashleys?
WELL that's not really true.....because today I have a Katie here for the third installment of Fall Essentials.

(My only real requirements for friendship are that you don't judge me for sometimes always choosing chocolate milk over wine and  that you have a mild affinity for the song Call Me Maybe. I don't ask much folks.)

anyway Katie is one of my new found blogs that I literally love so much. And she is the cutest thing ever...I just want to put her in my pocket so we can be best friends all day. But I mean seriously...she uses bananas as phones....
Hello. Soul sisters. Amen.
Anyway....enough of me. I'm passing the blogging baton over to Katie from Katie Michelle to tell us how Autumn goes down on the West side (of the country.....in case there was any confusion there).
XO, A

When Ashley asked me to guest post in her Fall Essentials series, I literally squealed.  It’s my first time guest posting, and I was just so excited that omg she likes me!   She really does! Okay, that sounds pathetic, but honestly, I was pretty giddy for the next few hours after that.  Ask Zack (he’s my husband.)  Anyway, hi Ashley’s readers!!  I’m Katie and I blog at katie michelle.  It’s pretty much my little compilation of pictures and words about things that I like and my life in general.  I just got married a little over a year ago, and am totally loving the married life.  It’s pretty awesome living with your best friend forever, I definitely recommend it!  But I’m not here to talk about me, I’m here to tell you what I think are some of fall’s essentials here on the best coast- I’m sorry, the West Coast. ;)

This summer has been a hot one here in California.  I’m not usually one to wish a season away prematurely, but boy am I ready for fall.  Leaves changing, a crisp in the air, more snuggles, apple picking, pumpkin carving.  Ahh, the fall.  Here’s some things you’ll need if you plan on spending your autumn in California.

Chunky sweater.  To pair with leggings and your favorite brown boots.  The bigger the sweater the better, I say, for extra comfort and that effortless “I-look-so-great-but-didn’t-have-to-try-one-bit” look.  It’s a good luck, trust.

Sunglasses, because we are on the West coast, and the sun never stops shining, even when the leaves start falling.  Protect those big gorgeous eyes of yours with some even bigger gorgeous sunglasses.  Plus, squinting leads to wrinkles, and those need to be avoided at all costs.

A cute hat.  For those days that your hair isn't cooperating, or when your head's a little cold, plus a hat is the perfect topper to any outfit, am I right?

Boots.  Yes, boots are always and forever a necessity.  It is fall, after all, and what's better than boots with, well, everything?  Pair them with tights, leggings, skinny jeans, colored pants (I'll still be wearing mine well into the cold season, thankyouverymuch), and floral pants (my personal favorite.)  What's better, I ask?  Nothing, that's what.

Crock pot.  It is a Halloween tradition in my family to make a big pot of chili every single year.  The smell that fills the house and the warmth is creates is such a comfort, that I literally cannot celebrate Halloween without it.  A crock pot is essential in this process.  Plus, now that I'm a wife, it's kind of my savior- easy meals that warm the soul and take little to no effort on my part?  Score!

Starbucks.  (In addition to my 5 fall essentials, I had to include this little 6th one, because I just couldn't leave out something so near and dear to my heart!)  Let's be honest here, all seasons need Starbucks in them.  But kind of especially the colder ones, because there's nothing more toasty and comforting than a nice steaming hot cup of your favorite caffeinated beverage.  For fall, I prefer a nice Chai Tea Latte.  Just try not to burn your tongue out of haste.  I dare you.

There you have it, ladies!  The essentials to surviving fall on the West Coast.  Thanks for having me, Ashley!  Now you're all ready to come visit California!

Yeah so I totally pinned that chambray shirt outfit on Pinterest......I would give my spleen and one kidney to have my outfit re-pinned on Pinterest. Thanks for posting Ash!

If you missed the first two days, see below. I'll save you the scroll down my page. You are welcome.

XO, A

I'm a new-ish follower.
LOVE these past 2 posts for fall essentials. I only wished I lived where I could get away with them. In Scotland (where I live) this time of year means one thing - only go out if necessary! Hats, scarves, gloves and tonnes of layers of clothes are essential to make it to work and back each day!

I have this confession but I just LOVE finding other bloggers named Katie since my name is Katie too. Is that creepy? I hope not cause it is the truth.

But I am so excited to have found her blog now! Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate milk. That is all.
