Fall Essentials - Northeast

Remember how we got all excited for Summer around here with the Summer Essentials series? Yes? Anyone?

Well, In honor of the first official day of Fall this week.....I've asked some of my favorite bloggers to share their top essential "must-haves" for Fall for various regions around the country. And I can already tell you.....I'm thiiiiis close to closing the bikini drawer for good, hopping into some boots and grabbing a PSL from Starbucks thanks to these girls.

First up is Jessica from Pretty Physicist who lives in Pennsylvania. I love this girl...we've developed such an awesome friendship and, if there's one thing I can tell you about her.....it's that she is the Queen of Fall! Take it away Jess......

Hi y’all … I’m Jess, the Pretty Physicist. I love fashion, beauty, and makeup … but I also love science, space, reading, and cooking. I’m married to the love of my life for 5 ½ years and we have 4 kitties. We live in south-central Pennsylvania, about an hour from Philadelphia. We live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms. Pennsylvania is GORGEOUS in the fall.

I am so happy to be here on Ashley’s blog today. First of all, how gorgeous and sweet is she?? I mean seriously ... I swear she could put on a paper bag and burlap sack bag and still look like a runway model. Did y'all know that she is the first blog that I fell in love with reading and my first blog friend? And because we’re blog besties, she knew to ask me to do this series for Fall for the North East because she knows ...
I love the smells, the tastes, the temperature. It is all perfect to me.

There are two things that define the fall season for me. One starts the season (and carries all the way through, but once it starts ... it's like "Welcome Fall!") and one ends the season.

1. Football! I was a cheerleader all through high school, so for me, Friday nights are football nights. Then I graduated college and started coaching high school cheerleading and once again … I spent my Friday nights at football games. Now that I’m no longer coaching, I spend my Sundays watching the Steelers.
2. Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday. Even though I love to decorate for Christmas, Thanksgiving is really my favorite holiday. For one thing, it means that I can start to decorate for Christmas. It also is the start of the holiday shopping season … and I am an experienced Black Friday shopper. But the thing that I love most about Thanksgiving is having my whole family together. My mom and I are in the kitchen, cooking and laughing. I love spending this time with my family.

My 5 Fall Essentials:

1. Pumpkin spice everything. Lattes, candles, pancakes, pumpkin pie … I love all things pumpkin spice. As much as this is blasphemy is the blog world, I actually prefer Dunkin Donuts pumpkin spice to Starbucks. I think it's because Dunkin Donuts has better tasting coffee.
2. A comfy outfit for lounging around or running errands. I'm telling you, if I can wear a hoodie and be comfortable, I'm a happy girl.
3. A cute outfit for date night or when you want to look a little nicer for errands (I actually made the effort to find most of these pieces for this outfit because I love it so much. FYI - sweater is from A&F).
4. A warm, comfy blanket. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to curl up on the couch with my hubby and a nice cup of coffee or tea and watch a movie ... or better yet, sit outside on our porch and look up at the stars.
5. An adorable lightweight jacket. Winter isn't here yet, but sometimes you need a lighter jacket. I found this cutie at NY&Co and I LOVE IT and can't wait to wear it!

I hope y'all loved reading about my fall must-have list! Have a lovely fall! XOXO

Stay tuned this week and next for more Fall must-haves!

As sad as I am to see the summer over - fall is my favorite time of the year! Hoodies, sweaters, cider mills, scarecrows, donuts....love it!

Great picks Jess!

Oooh, I just wish she didn't like the Steelers- we could have been such great friends ;) Kidding kidding.... I LOVE hoodies and blankies and wish I was curled up in them right now instead of sitting at my desk!!

Fun series! I love blankets. I have asked for so many blankets for different Christmas's that I've got all different fabrics and color choices for each room. I love them so much. Definitely definitely a must have.

I'm pretty sure I love fall for all the same reasons! I wish that we could wear hoodies sooner in Texas but we don't get that type of weather until about November!

All the reasons to love Fall. Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons, but for some reason towards the end of Winter it gets a bit depressing. I guess it's good we live in a world that has change haha
