Here in the blog world, you typically start following a blog and slowly become friends and maybe, if luck is on your side, meet said blogger in real life.
But for today's blogger.....our story is totally different....and backward. See before the world of blogging even existed.....when our world was just full of Lisa Frank everything, mondo 80s bangs, American Girl Dolls and a mild Claudia Kishi obsession, I was real life friends with one very famous blogger.
and yes, she is that ethereal and perfect in real life
And that would be Ilene....known to most in "this world" as "Illy."

Our friendship started back when we were 7 and then grew into a Pen-Pal friendship when Ilene moved to Japan with her military family. She eventually settled in Chicago for school and work and love and came full circle to our hometown of Beaufort a few years ago where she became the wildly popular author of Much Love Illy.
