Deal you a hand

Card games have been around forever it seems

As a little kid maybe you played Go Fish, Old Maid or Speed

In college, you most likely re-purposed your old deck for a round of Circle of Death

or perhaps took a gamble at a hand of poker on spring break in Vegas.

But today I have a new card game for you

One inspired by Miss Carrie Underwood and intended not to, make your wallets fatter, but to make your workouts funner (yes, I know that's not realllly a word...but it should be).

Here's How It Works:
Take a deck of cards & assign each suit a body area. Carrie uses Diamonds for arms, Queen of hearts for legs, Spades for the core and Clubs for cardio.

Split the deck in half, making sure there is a Jack in each half and then write down exercises for each suite, a different one for each half. Jack's are a one-mile run.

Then you flip a card and do the number of coordinating exercises. For example a Six of Hearts would be six squats.

The whole deck will take about an hour and a half to get through (with the runs) or you could do just a half and get a great 45-minute workout in.

Perfect for on the go and traveling or just perking up your workout

My Workout:
Half One
Diamonds - Pushups (the real kind)
Queen of Hearts - lunges
Spades - Crunches, crunches, crunches!
Clubs -  jumping jacks
Joker= 1 mile run
Jack = Downward dog for 10 seconds
Queens = 60 seconds of (air) boxing
Kings = 10 of the suite's exercise
Ace = 14 of the Suite's exercise

Half Two
Diamonds - Light weight presses
Queen of Hearts - squats
Spades - Side-to-side planks
Clubs - Crossover Toe touches
Joker = 1 mile run
Jack = Downward dog for 10 seconds
Queens = 60 seconds of (air) boxing
Kings = 10 of the suite's exercise
Ace = 14 of the Suite's exercise

I did this last night and it was SO FUN! Every day can be different!

Let me know if you all try this fun workout!
XO, A

That sounds fun! I remember in college, Juli and I did something similar - no running, but we did crunches, push-ups, and I can't remember what else.

That is such a fun idea! But can't I just automatically have Carrie's legs without the workout?! LOL

I think I would die after the first jack.

I'm kidding.

I love this! I just got a new job where I am basically living out of a hotel Monday-Friday and this would be a perfect workout!

now what would make this better? If I could come workout with you! Most of the time I love my workout-alone time but sometimes, (especially when I am down to these last few fatty pounds on my core area) it is nice to have someone to motivate me to not quit even though its harder and harder to see results! I will try this workout, so fun!
