Red Velvet Cake

I saw The Vow this weekend

and it was perfect

Of course Channing Tatum was spicy and oh so sexy

and Rachel McAdams was as lovely and charming as ever

But it was the story line that was so perfect
Tumblr_lz7s22llwn1qgmtfno1_500_large

I've heard mixed reviews.....that "it was no Notebook" or that it was "too hyped up."

But to me it was perfect

To me it was a glimpse of what love should be like. And not movie-love. Real love. Every day love. Lasting love.

The couple in the story genuinely enjoyed each other. And were kind to one another. And so in love all at the same time.

Is that so unrealistic? So unreachable? I hope not.

I'm crazy in  love with their vows....though not traditional, they were so personal. Full of love. Full of life.
Simple but passionate
Two-sided
And Forever

"I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they're not. To agree to disagree on red velvet cake, and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home."

Maybe Valentine's Day isn't about having a Valentine. Maybe it's about learning what you want in one.

And maybe it's true.....that the moments of impact in life that we may not understand
Moments we never saw coming
or Imagined could ever happen to us
That maybe took us by surprise
Can change us forever.

To finding our Valentine's or to the one's whose hearts we already call home.
Happy Valentine's Day,

XO, A

saw it last night and LOVED it. just a pure love story... not over glamorized and unrealistic like the Notebook (while i do love the notebook!) but real, down to earth, exactly what would happen in that situation, LOVE. so sweet.

This post made me tear up all over again ha! I saw the movie twice and bawled like a baby each time. I agree, what a statement of true love. I also youtubed the interview with the real couple, if you haven't done it - do so. It's precious.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I saw it and though it was alright. I wanna go see again to see if I still have the same impression. I adore Rachel McAdams and especially the pink dress she wore in the film. Did you know that it was based on a true story and there's a book about it: Kim and Krickitt Carpenter.

Happy Valentine's Day!

LOVED the vow. I thought it was simply wonderful and SO real.

I think maybe that's why some people didn't like it. Because the love is too real and the situation too real for them to escape their lives.

A Moments of Impact is all it takes.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Such a beautiful post hun! I saw The Vow over the weekend and I loved it. I thought it had its cheesy parts, but I still loved it. Their vows were beautiful. The way you could see their love for one another was beautiful. Channing's butt was beautiful. Haha! This will definitely be a movie I will buy on dvd!

I love this post! This V-Day I am still single, but hopefully this will not be a trend, but I agree with your last few statements and yes, taking the time to learn what a true Valentine means and is, is important!
I also LOVE Rachel McAdams and still wish she was with Ryan Gosling, unless of course he decides to have me instead. Happy Valentine's Day!

I loved it too! They really did seem like a couple who loved everything about each other and I want to be like that with my significant other some day. I thought their vows were adorable too! Plus I enjoyed seeing that little view of Channing Tatum's butt haha ooops!

now I REALLY want to see it. Did you know its based on a true story. I read an article about the real couple...SO CUTE! I'll try to find it and send it to you.

Not sure if you ever read my blog anymore I did a whole post on the book which the movie was loosely based off of. I didn't like the movie, but really it was only because I knew/read the story of Kim and Krickett Carpenter. They were on Oprah a few years back telling their story too.

Anyway, happy V day!

Love this line in your blog! I saw The Vow on Saturday night and really liked it. I wish the ending had been a little different...I felt like they just stopped, but other than that I loved it!

Happy Valentines Day (a day late!)
I CANNOT wait to see The Vow, but I really want to see it in English so I think I'm going to have to hold out for the dvd because some things just do translate.
And Channing Tatum is always yummy! :)

I think you're right. Love needs to be simple and uncomplicated.

Hope you get to love like that ;)

I still haven't watched the notebook, is that bad? This looks like a cute movie, I'll check it out, thanks for the heads up!

It was pretty good. My question: if you woke up from a coma and Channing Tatum was claiming to be your husband, would you really question it!??:) Just found your blog, via comment on Daybook. Following you on GFC. SO CUTE. I love that you're cooking challenged, too. I don't feel so bad now! Come say hi & follow back if ya feel like it.

I feel the same way about this movie! I left thinking, "I wish it was more of a classic love movie," and "It wasn't quite the Notebook." But I realized what you said, it was so real. I've never seen such a sincere and real love in a movie before. It made my heart so happy! LOVED it :)
