I Resolve to Break the Rules.....

…..just a little bit

It’s definitely the time of year when everyone starts thinking about goals and resolutions. Things they want to change or improve. Something about the promise of a new year that gives us hope to achieve our goals despite letting them  slip between the cracks of oooooh somewhere around mid-February.

So while I’d be lying if I said the typical “save more, spend less” and “eat healthier” weren’t in my thoughts for 2012, when I started to think about goals I wanted to set for the New Year, I started to think that I wanted to set no goals at all.

Instead of starting my year off with a list of “To Dos” …..I think I’d rather start it with the wide open FREEDOM to do anything.

Eat cake for breakfast.  Run in a race that’s messy. Get a blowout for no reason at all.

Have a slumber party….even at 26. Go to that concert on a work night. Date the ones that give you butterflies….leave the rest behind.

Book a red eye to Vegas for the weekend. Say yes more than you say no.  Buy yourself flowers.

Wear that sassy outfit. Play hooky. Celebrate for no reason besides this is your ONE life.
I’m not talking about getting arrested here girls…..I’m just talking about having some FUN!

Happy New Year’s to you my loves!

To the Year of Fun!
XO, A

I'm not good with keeping my resolutions. I can keep it for the first couple weeks into the year then somehow I just forget about em. This year I'm doing a monthly resolution, I wanna achieve something new each month. =)

Such a fabulous idea- I am so uptight sometimes, and I think this post is a good reminder to allow yourself to let loose a little bit, have fun, and live in the moment!

I love this! This list is all about having fun and being spontanous (sp?). The best momemts in life are sometimes the ones unplanned and being spontanous is something I'm working on....I'm such a planner :)

Welp! That post was a breath of fresh air! You're right...making a to do list is restricting. And all of the things you mentioned are so much fun! I'm still going to make a list, but I'm going to have to add an item or two from your "do anything" list onto mine.
