Happy Things

Cozy Things That Are Putting a Smile on this Chica’s Face

Pine-Scented Candle
I don’t have a real tree because, I’m fairly certain the instructions for putting up a real tree begin with “A  man” ….SO, for now, we just have the mini. But I’m loving this candle I found over the weekend that makes my whole apartment smell like it’s been dusted with pine needles! Mmmmm

Reindeer Cookies
Break and bake + 10 minutes in the oven and out comes soft sugar cookies with reindeer heads on them? This is totally my kind of baking.

Costumes
Speaking of reindeer…..I am loving the ridiculous outfits my girlfriends and I wore to the Jingle Jog on Saturday. We completely missed the start of the race but had such a fun time chatting it up during our 3.1 mile run.
Rudolph......

...and the TuTu gang....aren't they adorable?

Bootcamp
MOTHER.OF.PEARL. I have a whole new respect for bootcamp and marine people. I went to bootcamp with my friend Whitney Monday morning….at 5:45 AM in 30 degree weather. We did ridiculous amounts of reps of V-Ups and Mountain Climbers and then sprinted to another location where we did a ba-gillion crunches in the grass and dirt and then repeated all of that like 4 times…..yet somehow (once I could feel my fingers again)….it really was a fun time! There’ something rewarding about having accomplished a great workout and time with friends all before 7am!

yeah this....only dark and freezing cold ;)

Spinach Quiche
I’m sure many if not all of you follow Samantha over at Fitness Food and Faith…she’s one of my favs. She puts up amazing recipes all the time and since we know each other by now and she is well familiar with my culinary struggles….I usually comment something to the effect that I wish her and Bennett would adopt me so I could eat delicious food every night! BUT….Mrs. Walton put up a spinach quiche recipe last week which I told her I would make…and I did….and it was amazing! I will now be eating quiche for the next 7.5 days! OH…And if you haven’t already…go here and “like” her picture so she can become the next Texas Love blogger! K Thanks.

 Quiche in the making

Gold Nails
Perfect for Christmas and totally makes you feel like a Bond Girl. Double Win! I recently picked up a shade of gold polish at the Ulta and I am loving the glam effect it adds to even the most simple outfits.
Sorry girls....taking pics of your own hands is creepy and awkward!

Haha... I laughed at the part, where a real tree requires "a man." It truly does lol. I've seen the work that goes into the past three years my hubby and I got one. There is no way I could do it on my own.

So proud of you for cooking that quiche! I love Samantha's recipes, too. I need to go pick up a pine-scented candle because my tree is lacking in the smell department.

I love your reindeer shirt too! So cute! And as much as boot camp kicks my ass every day, I love it. Can't wait to go freeze my ass off tonight.

And you totally can put up a tree by yourself with no man. Well, You need a helper but it can be a gf or your mom because that's how I got mine up!!!!

I am emailing you tomorrow morning around 6:30 a.m. ish so you will have my winner. Does that work for you??? I need your phone number. Why do I not have this?

You're a rockstar with that reindeer run (in a cute outfit too!) and bootcamp!? I'm so slacking...

And I totally laughed at your "A Man" comment...so true!

You made me smile on this crappiest of days. You're right about a tree requiring a man. Even my fake one does. ;) Second, I love break and bake cookies. I don't care what anyone says, they're amazeballs! Third, I LOVE your shirt. Fourth, bootcamp sounds rough, but I wish we had something like that anyway. But not outside, because it was 10 when I left for work this morning. Fifth, that quiche looks yum, but Ken's allergic to spinach, so I guess I can't try it. :( Sixth, My nails are glittery red, which makes me feel Christmasy. and last but not least (man this is long), hopefully tomorrow you'll be announcing yours truly as Lindsay's winner. ;)

im this whole giveaway thing is doing wonders for our followers! and you are RIGHT...taking pictures of your hand is awkward. i took like 35 pictures on my sparkly nails before sending one to you. it just looked so awkward and clawed. hehe :)

Samantha-Elizabeth said...

haha you had me laughing right away with the "need a man for a tree" part. i'm the same way. happy holidays lady!

Katie said...

Its taken all the self-restraint I have to not blow up your inbox with comments on super old posts that I'm just now catching up on :) Way to go with the quiche!!!

The christmas tree part about needing a man made me laugh. I'll come to Atlanta and we can be all "I am woman hear me roar" and we can get you a real tree.
