Not Invincible

I had an entirely different post planned for today.

But it was a text from Erica that changed those plans.

A text that sent me straight to the MSN homepage where I saw Giuliana Rancic's picture stacked above the headline:
"E! Host Reveals Cancer Fight."

My heart instantly dropped and tears sprang into my eyes.
I know it sounds dumb, I do....to be so emotional over a celebrity.
But it was almost like hearing this news about a friend.

I have loved Giuliana Rancic for as long as I can remember.
My Tivo is often overflowing with episodes of Fashion Police, E! News and her and Bills' self-named reality show.

She has been my biggest role model professionally

My fashion Idol

and an example of an absolutely amazing relationship.

Her interview was stunning. She is indeed, a fighter and a reminder that even though we are young, life can be short....and we are not invincible.

Get well soon G.
You're in our hearts and prayers.

I hope you all have an amazing Tuesday!
And a VERY Happy Anniversary to my parents!
XO, A

Yes, when I got the text from you, tears did spring to my eyes as well. Cancer is a horrible, horrible disease, and I hope that we can find a cure. But G is a fighter, and it seems like they caught it soon enough, so I'm praying she'll be OK. But she's right about what she said - that baby will have saved her life.

So well said. I watched the interview yesterday and she is so strong. I hope that by her coming out with this it prompts other women to remember to get mammograms and self checks! Thankfully they caught it very early. She is so positive! She even said when she does have her baby it will have saved her life! Beautiful words!

first of all, i am finally getting my commenting act together. i read your post at 7:40 this morning half awake (did i mention i needed to leave for work at 8?) anyways, i was shocked to read this.

its so so terrible. Austin's mom passed away from breast cancer 4 years ago, we had only been dating for about 3 months before that so I didn't have the chance to meet her. She battled it for a long long time though, and it takes a strong person and a strong support system and Guiliana definitely has that.

PPS: happy anni to your parents! it's kind of AMAZING in a world where half the population gets divorced. we are lucky girls :)

I chose probably like 3 months ao o name our baby, Giuliana if it is a girl! So I am praying when he/she comes in March it will be a little G!

I feel you, my friend. I was so sad to hear about G having to fight this fight. But I have faith that she is a strong woman (from everything I know of her through tv and mags) and I am keeping her in my thoughts.

I was SO going to chat with you about this!!! I remembered that you were a G lover like me! I was SOOOO sad to hear about this! Seriously, I can only imagine how hard it has to be for her and Bill! She is right, that the little unborn baby(s) have saved her life! I hope good things start happening to her soon!
