Hot town, summer in the city

CLANG. DONG. BANG.
It was about mid-afternoon last Friday that I heard these noises. They were loud and shocking and sudden and I was convinced we were being attacked by birds from Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “The Birds”….Scariest.Movie.Ever (with maybe the exception of SAW 731 which I was drug to and watched through my fingers over my eyes the whole time). #bestgirlfriendever

Offices around here have lots of stress toys in them….golf clubs and balls, darts, punching bag (not kidding), etc. so for a minute I thought someone was throwing a ball against the wall…. and I thought ’10 more minutes of that and someone is going to unleash HR on the culprit!’ And that’s when I looked out my window and saw them.
I stealthily took this pic from my cube. I’m such  a creeper sometimes.

25 stories up, hanging from two ropes and whistling like they were on the playground back in 1957. The Window Washers! I was pretty useless for about 10 minutes as I just stared out the window at them. The loud noises came from giant suction cups that they used against the windows to keep them stable. They jumped from side to side and down as if they were repelling one of the six foot putty mountains you’d find in the middle of the mall.
And as I watched them do their Windex magic, I thought what an interesting job this was! There are so many interesting jobs out in the world……things I often wonder how you even get into! Like a crime-scene cleaner or secret shopper!

What’s the craziest job you’ve ever done? Or heard of?

Those were some nice stealthy pictures. Could they see in and see that you were taking pictures of them?

I can't think of any crazy jobs, but I too am a stealthy photog. I snap random pictures of people to send to my BFF - especially strange people (like the Mullet family at dinner Saturday night) because I know she'll laugh as hard as I do, and that way I can pretend I'm laughing at a text, and not at the Mullet family. :)

ha, it's always weird when they wash our windows too. It's like your sitting at your desk and you're being watched, from several feet in the air. Very strange...

Ahhh I definitely would be staring at them the whole time, too! What a scary job! My craziest "job" was while I was an intern at a resort, I had to dress up like the mascot, a sea turtle! It was very interesting! There's even a pic floating around on FB!

makes me laugh so much when they are outside our windows. and you try not to make eye contact. so awkward.

i cant decide if this is the WORST or semi best job ever?

Yeah - that's insane.

I once watched some random foreign television show where two guys sat in a hot tub with monkeys and discussed music videos.

I was envious. Way envious.

I'm still laughing that Megan dressed up as a sea turtle...WHAT A LOSER! HAHAHAHAHA jk Megan :) sorta.

I would've grabbed a pic of this too..I have no crazy job stories. the only thing that comes to mind is that girl from the bachelor last season that scared Brad off by her dead body job. yikes.

hahaha im laughing over the SAw 731 reference...seriously how many are there

my friends work had nerf guns that they used to shoot at people for fun haha

you should have knocked on the windows and did a little dance for them. im sure your window would have been the CLEANEST out of them all! hahah

xoxoxo

I almost peed my pants just thinking of being up that high. Craziness!

Ashley said...

OMG I could not do that. I am already afraid of heights so the thought of being that high with a SUCTION cup or two makes me anxious!

hmmm...craziest job, i've done. babysitting got pretty crazy in the city - but that's a story for another day.

i've heard that people read the yellow pages for a job for spell-check. the job itself isn't crazy but i think someone is crazy to do it!
