Tat-Tat-Tat-It-Up

I have a mild fascination with tattoos. One of My BFF's has been wanting a small discreet one for a year now and so we talk about it all.the.time. I always try to talk her into just getting one whenever we're together. I have yet to succeed but hold tight my dear friends - I am incredibly persuasive- I once talked a friend into purchasing a $200 Coach bag when we were merely at the mall to browse (Rina "friend" you know who you are!)

I don't think I'd ever get one because I have the pain tolerance of an infant in addition to being the World's Slowest Reader....(gah, I am so plagued in life). I'm not kidding though - I once called a boyfriend at work because I was suffering from a 10 minute long charlie horse and panicked that it might be an emergency.

Plus I could never decide what to to get - I would want it to be something memorable or something with meaning....and to date, there aren't any occasions tattoo-worthy to be remembered.

I think when done appropriately, they can be very fashionable and trendy
Some of my favorites:
Eva Longoria's wedding date wrist tattoo. However, now that she's divorced - I bet this is kind of awkward!

Victoria Beckham's Hebrew Saying Neck/Spine Tat

Lindsay Lohan's Love-Handle Tattoo - LOVE this saying.

So my little blog loves - are any of you inked? What's your tattoo of?
XO, A

You crack me up! I love tattoos! I'm a big baby too so it will probably shock you that I have 3. Soon to be 4! I have one on my hip, and two small ones on my ankle. Two have significant meaning that my mom and sister share. The other is just flowers that I got on my 18th Birthday. I knew it would be something I could stick with forever. I'm planning another one, which will also be hidden and will be getting it in about 2 weeks so I'll be sure to blog about it :)

Hope you had a great weekend! xoxo

I am so comittment-phobic that this is just never going to be in the cards for me.

My best friend has one though which totally surprised me when she did it.

I think I find it surprising when a lot of people have tattoos actually... but it seems to just be more common a thing now ya know?

Oh my brother has like 3 though... I hope he sticks to 3 because anymore may be over kill ; )

I love Eva's tattoo. She's so pretty, too :-)

I wouldn't be able to get a tattoo, because I'm sure I'd get sick of it real quick!

I do not have any. I have never really wanted one either.

1. I am not good with pain.

2. I am afraid I would get someone that would completely mess it up. Have you seen some that were completely spelled wrong or there was a major mistake?!

3. I would probably change my mind and wish I hadn't gotten it later / or had gotten something else
4. It would not be attractive at all when I am old and wrinkly and can't make out what the actual tattoo is.

I am not against tattoos and thing certain things on certain people are cute {such as the pictures you posted} but I will more than likely never get one.

i have a tattoo. i got it last august. i had been wanting one for a while, but didn't know what i should get. finally, i decided on a fluer de lis. i've always loved the symbol and i was born in Louisiana which the unofficial symbol of the state. i have it on my "hip" near my vag. it can be hidden with bathing suits and undies. which is the way my mama likes it. i even went all by myself to get it. it took less than 10 minutes and didn't hurt at all really. like i can't even describe the feeling to you b/c i don't remember it.

I'm a complete baby when it comes to pain too, but I have two tattoos. It's a very strange pain, but I totally think you could handle it....I say go for it! :)

sooo i always wanted a tattoo of a dolphin jumping over my belly button when i was younger and into high school. thank the LORD that they make you get parental permission to get a tattoo.. bc i would have regret that one. can you imagine how big that sucker would have gotten when i get pregnant. no thanks. so ever since that whole thing i like the idea of a tattoo but i cant commit to anything. plus the pain and touch ups.. no thanks. xo jillian:: enter to win a $100 shopping spree!

I don't think I could ever decide on something! Because once I got it, I would probably want something else! I like victoria beckhams though, I have never seen it! BUT if I were to get one, I would get it on my neck or foot..hehe.

Hahahahaha and i love your pain tolerance and that you called your BF!

I am at two and I want another! Both of mine are very small. One on my shoulder and one on my wrist. I think tattoos are beautiful if done tastefully!

I'm not, but I am so fascinated by them.

I'm not inked, but I do think, when done right...it came defintiely be a pretty work of art. I, like you, just can't figure out what I would choose!

I bet Eva is totally regretting that one! Bummer. I'm against them only because most look tacky but yes, when done right, then some are OK! I do like the 'clear' ones. Have you seen those? If I were to get one I'd get that because you know it's there, but can be easily hidden and not flashy.

little tats are really cute - but i could never get one. i'm too chicken. i hate needles.

I have a tattoo of a humming bird on back. It's not like any other humming bird though. It's so incredibly detailed and it's just so gorgeous! I;m SO proud of myself for getting it because i am the worst with pain and needles. Like...THE WORST! When i was first getting it i was panicking, but after a while i got so used to the pain

Julip Made said...

Haha I'm right there with you. I have way too big a phobia of needles to get one, but I'm always fascinated by them. I'm also way too indecisive to pick something to last the rest of my life.

I have a small celtic knot (symbol for the Trinity) on my right wrist...I have never regretted getting it :)

I also want a small discreet tattoo, but haven't had the guts to take the plunge yet. I'm think of maybe getting one in white ink on the underside of my wrist, but I'm not in any rush haha.

Jurgen has one on his back and I love it though :)

I don't have a tattoo and don't think I'd ever get one, but a lot of people at the camp I volunteer at have ones to remember the loved ones they've lost!

I'm with you on not having the pain tolerance. I hate needles. I mean I pass out everytime I have to have blood taken, so I don't think tatoos are for me. But I've gone with friends to get them and they have always turned out awesome!

I feel the same way about tatoos. I love interesting/meaningful ones on other people, but I could never get one myself. There is nothing (so far) that I would want written on my body forever. I think the idea of getting a little meaningful saying around your ring finger when you get married is romantic. But yeah...a divorce would really ruin that!

My husband has a tattoo on his arm...his fire department number. Blah. Haha. I think tattoos are okay. I could NEVER do it. I'd be so scared that I would regret it forever. When L Lohan is older and wider, that tattoo is going to be huge! Haha!

i'm with you... i've always wanted a small one on my wrist, but could never decide...

and i hate needles!

I have 2 tattoos and I love them both!!! I thought about the 1st one for like 3 years before I pulled the trigger (and turned 18 lol)..it's a shamrock with the colors of the Irish flag in it. My other one just says "amore" with a tiny heart next to it. I'm 1/2 Irish and 1/2 Italian, so it's not like they're just randoms.

I will definitely get a couple more, probably something to represent my kids when I have them :)

I have a small script tattoo down the side of my foot. I love it because it's discreet, and easy to cover up. But I love how it looks when you can see the top of it peeking up over my shoe too :-)

I am inked. I have one tat I got when I was 21. It is for my brother who passed away in 2005. It's a Banksy girl with a heart balloon. The girl represents me and the heart balloon flying away out of the girl's reach represents my brother. We were really close and he passed away when I was 19 (he was 18). My youngest sister recently had the same tat done. Mine is small and is on my back near my left shoulder blade. It barely hurt. :)

I am actually saving up to get a shoulder piece done! I love tattoos SO SO much!

I have one on my foot "Let it be"
One on my ribs- a ribbon and a diamond
one on my hip- a flower
and one on my lip :) hahah it says "Classy" That one is by far my favorite, but it faded so you can't read it as well anymore!!

I really like tattoos too, but I can't ever decide if I want to man up and get one. If I ever did, I think that I want one that says "peace." in typewriter font on my side on my ribcage. I'm going into business and engineering though, so I have to keep in inconspicuous and professional.

I'm obsessed with tattoos...and I never would have thought that would be the case when I was younger. When I turned 18 I got a sun on my lower back- right side. When i was 21, I got the Boston Red Sox "B" on my hip (which may always be my favorite one). And then two or so years ago I got a four leaf clover on my foot. I also have a couple more in mind (a saying on my rib cage...and my maiden name initial on my foot). I thought long and hard about the ones I got but I can understand if you were always changing your mind, why you might stay away...as well as the pain factor. I was super scared each time...and I thin I psyched myself up so much...that it ended up not hurting as much as I thought:)
