Light bulbs, Fire Drills and Ducks

As you all know by now, my apartment hates me. Further proof was provided to me last week.

When I went to leave for work, I learned that the elevators weren’t working. Being the fire-safety conscious person I am, I realized that I had no clue where the stairs are. Let’s just say I’m crossing my fingers there is never a fire because the stairs are like a solid mile from my apartment. Naturally that was the day I decided to wear a sweater to work and with Atlanta’s news-making temperatures in the 100’s, I looked super awesome after my stair experience.
Also, I think my light bulbs are conspiring against me. we have fancy hangy lights that don’t take normal light bulbs so every time one goes out I have to call maintenance to replace it. Well I kid you not…..as soon as one light bulb gets fixed, another one goes out – never two at once – just one at a time. It’s a conspiracy I’m positive.

In other news….let’s talk diets. I don’t really do them. I just work out like a feign and try to eat healthy. So you would think that since it’s summer and all I’d be even more focused on watching what I eat and working out right? Well last week was a total bust - I felt SO burned out on working out for some reason. I may have worked out three times total and I ate like the pregnant mother of twins. By Friday I was about to take my nicest pair of yoga pants, put a nice crease in them and wear them to work. But anyway, from here on out, I am really going to focus on consistent healthy eating and working out. (I write this as I’m eating a bag of gummy bears…..at 6:13am)….I have issues. Seriously.

Ducks – On my run on Saturday I spotted a passle of Canadian Geese hanging out in the Nordy’s parking lot…..and I seriously considered turning around and running the opposite direction. I’m not a fan of birds…..specifically of the duck brand. I got bit by a duck when I was four. I wanted to pet it’s bill! Apparently ducks are not really the petting kind of animals. They look all cute and quaky but they are vicious animals I tell you. Vicious!
Do any of you have any bird hangups?

And lastly, I apologize for the most random post ever. My mind is a mystery some days.

I am literally terrified of all birds. All of them. How people have them as pets, I'll never understand! Totally understand your desire to run the opposite way!

i think its safe to say i love you because you thought to CREASE yoga pants and wear them to work. That is genius!!

We had geese at our college that would hiss and run after people. They were pretty cranky, but then in April or so they had little fuzzy babies who were adorable. However, if the mother caught you looking at them, even from 20 feet away, she would run at you! Then we got an email a month later saying the geese were being euthanized..umm? And did I mention my college had a lot of hippy/animal loving/tree-huggers? not pretty!

oh and maybe it was that "creepy thing I can't mention because other bloggers haven't recieved it in the bloggy package" who was conspiring against you and blowing your lights out! he is POSESSED

I always freak out when I come across ducks or pigeons during my run - I truly feel like they are going to attack me!

I have never thought of creasing yoga pants and wearing them to work, will do tomorrow! haha jk but I am about at the point where I need to! Sitting at a desk 8 hours a day does wonders on the bod, and not the good kind of wonders

I am also a breakfast junk food junky - in fact it's beginning to sound like we have twin diets and fitness programs because I too never diet, but just work out like a crazy person to make up for my horrible sugar binges!

No duck problems on this side, but I am really scared of geese - those things are violent!

HAHA! I love you. You always make me laugh. I hate birds...which would include ducks. Idk why...they always scare me though! And diets? Yeah, never tried that. I just eat and then...I don't exercise. I'm sure that'll catch up with me some day!

Hahah this post is random and quirky and I love it. Recently, I've actually been wearing my yoga pants to work, well at least from my walk from the metro to work. Typically I rush to the locker room and change into something that downward dogs cannot be performed in. Today, in my sleepy Monday pre-coffee stumble, I walked to my desk, yoga pants and all... oh life...

Oh sister, I feel you on the bird thing. Ever since I saw that Alfred Hithcock movie, "The Birds" in elementary school (p.s. who shows that movie to a bunch of kids in school?!?) I have flipped out with them! When I was living in San Francisco and running by the water, there would always be a bunch of pigeons or seagulls or something and I hated it!

Keep it up girl! All your working out will make up for the gummy bears! Eating them for breakfast means you have the whole rest of the day to burn it off! :) (Hairbo gummy bears are a total weakness of mine, so I know how it is!)
