Lacey Needs Your Help

Apparently 26 is the year to become domestic….because in addition to salt and pepper shakers, I received my first house plant for my birthday. It’s a daffodil and I named her Lacey. Unfortunately, Lacey isn’t doing so hot. I water her, I give her sunshine and I talk to her every day and tell her spicy secrets. I don’t know what else the plant wants from me.

The little tag that came with her – you know the one that’s supposed to tell you how to take care of the plant - said “Daffodils make a great addition to brighten any home.” No duh. It included no“how to” advice…..awesome.

So this is Lacey the Daffodil.

Yes, she's a daffodil and not grass.....don't be mean!

She needs a haircut I know. Apparently she’s dying to be a blondie but, I’m pretty sure she’s supposed to have green hair. Also her soil has been moist for like three days and I haven’t watered her. (Moist is such a gross word…it’s right up there with scab and ooze).

So any of you green thumbs out there? Any advice on brining my little bloomy back to life?

Unfortunately when it comes to plants, I have more of a black thumb. But I do have a jalepeno plant named Herbert that so far I haven't killed (but he hasn't sprouted any peppers yet either). I have Lacey gets some green hair soon :-)

ha! You may remember I bought like 4 flower pots a month or so ago. Well they all died so I bought 4 more. My mom is a plant pathologist so you would think I know what I'm doing, but I don't. Apparently they needed to be watered every day. Well, mamma doesn't have time for all that! We'll see how long these new ones last. I have been trying my best!

o boy, idk lady you might have to bury that sucker. my fiance waters all of our plants bc i over-water and kill them :( apparently youre suppose to have a pot that has holes in it so you can see when you water it too much. better luck next time! xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams

Ok!! A couple of things.

1. you know, not only are we awesome. But we are brilliant because we share the same fear of scary roller coasters. And um hello, i was watching to Today show this morning and they were talking about how an 11 year old girl on the jersey shore, fell straight off the FERRIS WHEEL and died. It was so tragic. Yup. Never going on scary, tall, life threatening rides.

2. I read your apt post! And it made me giggled. I am trying to figure out where you live. Yalls apt is so pretty. And are those really your stairs! Very fun! Except not fun to climb.

3. this post about your little plant friend made me laugh. I am the same way. girl I don’t know, I wrote about a couple of plants I bought a couple of weeks ago. And truth be told. They haven’t been mentioned once since because they are dead any lying in the trash dumpster. RIP little plants.

I wish I could help, but I have no idea about anything gardening related. I've always wanted to have my own little veggie garden though!

awwww poor lacy :( I wish I had a green thumb, but this is coming from the girl who bought 8 plants from the Target dollar aisle and they aren't growing too well. I'm blaming the fact that they are from target!

maybe you should pour some nesquick on her!

but what I do know is that if her soil is moist (cringing saying that word) than it should be okay I would think...is she by sunlight?!

she has a great mommy though!

i think its hilarious that out of all these comments, no one really knows how to revive the little sucker. apparently you've made blog friends with zero green thumbs, including me!!!! i love it so hard.

anyways, i'd go with the comment above and try some nesquick on her. if that don't work, then you're just outta luck, little lady.

XOOO!!!!

Is Lacey getting any Vitamin D? She may need some. I'm clueless otherwise haha One of my best girlfriends despises the word moist and seriously goes crazy if she hears it...hahah

Bahahah, I love it! I am pretty domestic but have a black thumb! I got a potted plant for my dorm room a year ago and always would forget to water it--I brought it home to my dad for him to nurse it back to health, but he said it was a lost cause!

Aww, I have no idea how to revive her. But I'm sure you'll figure it out between comments here and Google searches, haha! Good luck!
