A Big Mushy Post

Blogging is a funny thing. It gives you the ability to see inside others lives you never would. It showcases their beliefs, passions and abilities. It opens the door to their lives and the people that make up their families, friends or crushes. Some blogs let you know what Carrie Underwood wore to last night’s award show and where to get it for less…..while others remind you about the cellulite-inducing powers of that brownie sitting on your desk.

Blogging sometimes provides the biggest encouragement to the end of a rough day or week…even if that encouragement is from a stranger. And It somehow empowers you to share things about yourself that you normally would keep hidden….such as setting off your own car alarm twice in one day, scrambling to find pants or that time you tried keying into an apartment that wasn't yours!

…It’s the truest form of the “reality” trend.

But I guess one of the most unexpected things I’ve found in blogging are the friendships I’ve made….and not just “hey you write on my posts every day and I’ll write on yours friendships”….but actual legit ones. I have blog friends I text and email with nearly every day….some just a few times a week or a quick facebook comment here or there. But when I think about my “best friends” there’s no doubt it’s so many of YOUR names that come to mind….even though we’ve never met.

Even though we’ve never met…..they know more about me than most people I interact with on a daily basis.

Even though we’ve never met….when I plan trips, I always think about collaborating in one of their cities or at least one close enough to meet up

Even though we’ve never met….I really miss  them. I get sad on days when I  don’t hear from them

Even though we’ve never met….I stalk then on Twitter and Facebook like they’re my lover

To my guuuuurrlllls! One day we’ll meet up for real life I just know it….and we’ll toast with a Diet Sun Drop beverage, do a little TRX then kick back in our Jack Rogers and listen to some ‘Lil Weezy. It will be bliss!

PS – How many of you clicked on this post thinking I was about to expose some big juicy boyfriend gossip? Haha I’m such a trickster! ;)

Girl! We still need to meet up and be awesome together! We live less than an hour away from each other. There's no excuse. :)

I couldn't agree more with the post...

and it came at a good time because I watched this girl on mtv yesterday who was rather obsessed with her online avatars and had no real life friends... and I started to think "what if that happens to me?!"
Then I remembered my blog friends encourage me regarding all my real life ventures, so it's all good.

You text!? jealous

What a great post! The bloggin world is certainly unique - it's crazy how you can really get to know someone without every meeting them.

awwwww i could not agree more with this post!! I love it!

i never really expected meeting such awesome people when I first started my blog...mainly because I thought I'd just be writing blog posts and thats it! Now, as you say, I miss blog friends when I don't talk to them everyday, and stalk them daily via text/email/twitter/facebook and every other way!!

i also think of ways to figure out meeting up with you guys whether it be in their state or close to it! i guess this just proves we need to have a big bloggy meet up!

and i cant wait for that diet sundrop weezy rap-fest

So true! And how many times do you tell a friend "my friend... well a girl I follow on her blog recently just did this..."?

My husband gets sick of me telling him all about my blogger friends' lives. :)

awwww, you are just the sweetest thing.

btw, ever since you commented on my post yesterday, bennett has been calling everything "adorbs" (yes, he keeps a close eye on all comments coming in). it's totally his new favorite word - and i'm totally ok with that!

I love this! I have people that I refer to as "My Twitter Friend" or "My Blogger Friend" and my husband is confused. I would LOVE to meet some of these people in real life because it's true - we'd probably be BFFs. But I'm always hesitant because I don't want to come off as a stalker or something ... it's so hard to find girls that I have things in common with because I work in a male dominated field (and male dominated as in I'm the only female in the department - EVER).
