Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Sunday marked the day of my first Braves game and initiation into a very much Atlanta tradition.Though this is not my first experience with major league baseball, it has been a couple years since I've been an in-stadium fan. I found quite a few observations at the ball game:

1. If you have your heart set on your child being a baseball player, I recommend you name him something along the lines of Chipper or Timber.

2. Man-eating. Naturally at the ball park there is lots of eating going on.....However, as I watched the mid-20s guy in front of me down an entire thing of popcorn followed up by a large container of Mayfield ice cream....I realized just how unfair the male/female metabolisms really are. While Mr. Eat-everything-in-sight will probably follow up his ballpark treats with a nice dinner at the Awful Waffle and suffer no consequences, if a girl ate the same popcorn and ice cream it would mean no less than 2 pounds and 1 butt dimple. Totally unfair.

3. The Kiss Cam is magical. Old people love suddenly becomes adorable and kissing becomes as much a sport as the baseball game being played as men vie to have "THE" best kiss publicly televised to the rest of the stadium. Magical I tell ya.

4. The Wave is incredibly entertaining. Don't be a buzz kill - play along.

5. Do not be deceived....they say there are only nine innings in a game. However, they fail to mention there is a top and a bottom to each inning - therefore making it EIGHTEEN total innings. Pack your patience.....baseball is a loooong game.....

But a ton of fun. ;) Hope you all had a beautiful long weekend! Cant wait to read all about it!

I loooove Kiss Cams. Husband & I have season tickets to the Buffalo Sabres. One season, we made the Kiss Cam three times. THREE TIMES. I felt so popular that year.

I've always wanted to go to a baseball game, but I'm a yankees fan and the tickets are a little ridiculous sometimes in terms of prices, haha. Sooo maybe someday when I have a job. I love the kiss cam picture! :)

I must agree with absolutely EVERYTHING in this post. I so badly always want to dive into sausages, hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts...buuut must agree its all a 2 pounder haha stupid guys and their metabolisms

A few years ago I went to a red sox game that was tied 1-1 for so long that they ended up playing 17 innings..we were at the game from 1 PM until like, 8 PM...while freakin, INTENSE, it was also like ugh come onnnnnn

Agreeeeeeed… baseball is a long game. One time, while sitting at Austins game I googled why is baseball 9 innings. And really there was no reasoning. Stupid. Just stupid! A couple of his friends in the Phillies high A team in FL had a game the other night that was 23 INNINGS LONG!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine? Nooo thank you.

Haha!! 18 innings. Loved this post...baseball is in my family's blood...my grandpa played in the MLB for 16 years and my brother plays in high school! Personally, I'm a Giants fan, and an even bigger Buster Posey fan (our catcher), which is also a great name for a child (:
