Pimping out my workout

Ever since I finished my half marathon I've felt like switching up my workout. Don't get me wrong I still love running but it's so nice to run a few leisurely miles through the city instead of driving hard towards a mileage goal.
I first heard about Physique 57 on an E! News segment and after looking into it found nothing but RAVE reviews.

The Nuts and Bolts of Physique 57™ is that it  is a cardiovascular program of isometric exercises and orthopedic stretches. Their process, called Interval Overload, uses interval training sets that use your own body weight for resistance, and  exercises your muscles to the point of fatigue, then stretches them for relief.
Translation: EVERYTHING BURNS! BUT I'm in love with it. EVERYTHING feels so tight afterwards. And really, what's the point of working out if you're not going to push yourself? It's good to feel the burn.
One of the best parts of this series? The instructors. The arms and abs series is my favorite but I laugh throughout the entire full body workout that Tanya leads. She says funny things like "Look how sexy you are!" and "You are a thigh warrior" and, my favorite "We're lifting our seat muscle...life is gooood!" (And a bonus...I really think a lot of these moves could double as some sweet moves on the dance floor!)

Physique 57 only has studios in LA and New York but they sell their DVD series....I may or may not have totally bought this because it's endorsed by Kelly Ripa but honestly some of the best bones I've ever spent. I would definitely recommend this workout to any woman who wants a challenging workout without bulking up.

Get up and get moving today!

OOO this looks fun!! I need stuff like this. I never do stretch and strengthening workouts- Usually just a run and nothing else. I'll definitely check this out.

That's awesome. I did P90X before getting knocked up, but I would be totally willing to give this a try after the baby pops out!

I had the exact same reaction after I finished my last half marathon (about 2 weeks ago) and promptly booked a squash court over the weekend for a fun runaround :)

Love your blog - I'm your newest follower....yippee :)

pshhh what are you talking about? I download clips of people saying "Your effing sexy" and download them onto my iPod while working out in the gym! jk haha

but that is awesome! I think that motiviation would be pretty neat. But no matter what you do, I am still jealous you can run a half marathon

I have been looking into the 30 day shred. Is that good?!

I'm really disappointed Ashley... because you didn't admit to where you bought this! haha kidding

I love the idea behind this workout, but I know myself. I just can't do workout videos... I last for a week then I am over it. Running it is...

That sounds hard core! But it's true, what's the point in working out if you can't see any change. No pain no gain right?

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm also looking for a newish workout... treadmill, sit-ups, etc. is getting a bit boring!

This sounds great! I am trying hard to be more in shape. I've done a lot of running, but it is growing boring.
Congrats on all of your achievements, that is awesome!
