I Confess

Im taking a cue from my girl Carissa today (whom you should totally add to your daily blog roll) with
"I confess"

-I confess I went to work with only one set of lashes mascara’d yesterday. This distraction during makeup application happened because the Boy Meets World where Cory chases Topanaga to Disneyworld was on and I got a little caught up. I then went to the Publix across the street and bought a ridiculously priced tube of mascara because I am that vain.

-I confess I’ve recently become obsessed with a few products on QVC. I’m not tivo-ing the diamonique segments yet but….i’m not going to say it’s out of the realm of possibility. Yes, I realize I’m just one step away from spending my Saturday afternoons playing rummikub and drinking hot tea out of rose-patterned tea cups.
-I confess that I lead a double life. Only a handful of my real-life friends know I blog and when I’m about to tell one of them it feels like I’m about to spill the beans that I eloped or had a child by the mailman.

-I confess I make to-do lists with at least two things I’ve already done listed on there just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing them off

-I confess I pretty much drop it like its hot every time Cee Lo Green’s Forget You comes on.

-I confess I got the blister from hell yesterday at work and with no band-aids on hand I masking-taped my foot. It totally worked by the way. And yes I feel both equal parts ghetto and crunk for confessing this.

-I confess that I make a pretend phone call to no one every day when I'm leaving work to avoid getting trapped talking to our overzealous building concierge. I'm such a meanie.

What do you confess today? Anything spicy?

lol I am dyyyying

1) I would have gone and bought mascara too, don't worry. Sometimes I want to buy a whole nother set of makeup to leave in my cubie to apply during day...sometimes I go into the bathroom and look at myself and wonder who has seen me with this smeared eyeliner

2) Like, only 2 of my "real life" people know I blog..I feel the same..if I told them it'd be like telling them I'm pregnant lol..one day I will..one day!

3)Everytime I hear Nicki Minaj 'did it on em,' I shake what my mama gave me too..

1. i have to watch the news in the morning (The Today Show only) b/c if I have Saved by the Bell or MTV on I would never get ready.

2. tape is an awesome idea for makeshift bandaids.

3. a lot of my friends don't know i blog and if anyone speaks of my blog in public i will cut them.

4. i do the same thing with the "fake phonecall"...usually at work. if a rep comes in and i don't want to speak to them i'll get on the office phone and call my cell phone which is on silent. sometimes i have to do several times depending on who it is.

HAHA I love your confessions! I fake phone calls all the time! None of my friends know I blog, glad I'm not the only one! I would totally walk around with mascara on one eye only too! HAHA

would it be weird if i printed out this list o' confessions and framed them because they're basically all the same as my own!!

i know the mascara part would be the point of that confession, however, that is one of my favorite boy meets world episodes and i totally wouldn't dropped whatever i was going too! such a genius show. be still my heart.

also, secretly, not many people in my real life know i blog too. that's why i've never mentioned it on facebook or twitter. i'm so sneaky :) but sometimes random people tell me they know about it and its immediately awkward.

also, john and i were talking about our wedding (no, we're not engaged but i'm crazy) and i asked if you could come and he said yes! hahah yessss!!!!!!! we'll have to change it from "blog friends" to "sisters" since no one knows about our double lives. deal? maybe this should be in an email instead of a public comment? whatevs.

well one hi! love you.

I totally support the purchasing of that mascara and the vanity involved... cause I'd do that... and I'd be ok with it.

pretty much all my real life friends know I blog because I post it on facebook, but I've maybe lost a few because of it ; )

The fake phone call is a great go-to in all kinds of situations.

This post made me smile big and laugh because I do the same thing - only one friend of mine knows about my blog and she lives in another state - she loves it though - ha!
And I sometimes watch QVC on a Friday night for a few hours!
Thanks for sharing.

not all of my friends know that i blog, either. i generally get a confused reaction. my dad still doesn't understand what a blog is. he said that he tried to google me, but all he could find were some 'unsavory' websites. awesome. my dad thinks i'm an internet slut.

"Forget You" will AUTOMATICALLY make me dance no matter the time or place! I don't advertise my blog, either. I really want to talk s*it about my co-workers some (ALOT) of days, but I'm worried she'll stumble across it. :)

How can you pay attention enough to get ready with the tv on? I get distracted with my iPod playing!!

I make fake phone calls ALL THE TIME. It's the easiest and BEST way to avoid annoying people :)

I totally do the fake phone call thing too!!! And I definitely would have gone to buy mascara also. Also that vain, I guess :)

haha love all your confessions...too funny!! I def came to work with the other day without butting mascara on and I felt naked so I had to put some on at lunch!!

Oh my word, okay so the one about leading a double life? I feel the exact same!!

I'm definitely guilty of putting things on my to do list that I've already done, just for the satisfaction of crossing them off. I also agree with you about sharing my blog with my real life friends. It's a slow, process, but eventually I think every one will know about it.

Happy Hump Day!

I confess that the fake phone call cracks me up. Haha

And even though there are quite a few people that know I blog, only very few have my address. I really prefer it that way. Until my husband and my mom tell half of our church and all of our relatives about it, and gives them my blog address. Not cool!

Awesome confessions! I make such detailed to do lists that even walking to the fridge for a snack is an accomplishments. Oh and fake phone call/? ALL THE TIME. They give me a chance to regroup before stressful situation (like a fake phone call when I need a mini break)

omg, I love this post for a plethora of reasons. You like my big word??? OK, so let me get down to biznaz ...

1) I use the word CRUNK all the time! I got so excited when I read that word in your post.

2) Ceelo's F U is on my workout playlist. It's the best. If you love that song, do you know what you'll love even more?? The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars. It's my LIFE THEME SONG!! I love it soooo much.

3) I love that you pretend to talk on your phone. I totally try to avoid eye contact with our security guards when I walk out of my building, but they always try to talk to me even if I still have my sunglasses on inside.

4) I'd do the same thing about the mascara. I've worn my shirt backwards or inside out (i forget which one) to work and not noticed until noon. WOW. I love that Boy Meets World distracted you, I loved that show. TGIF, anyone? and

5)I do the SAME EXACT thing on my to-do lists. I thought I was the only one and a complete loon. LOVE IT!

Did I use the word love enough???

Hahaha... I am laughing so hard about the pretending to be talking on your cell phone thing! - What kind of things do you say to yourself?

And many of my friends also don't know that I have a blog - and I'm not even sure why I don't want them to read it!

I confess that this is my second day at my new job and I'm already on blogger :)

I'm totally with you on this one! Only a few friends know that I blog and I'd like to keep it that way.

I know what you mean about the blog, when my Mother in law found out. it was like the I was having an affair or something. crazy!

Katie said...

Absolutely no one knows about my blog yet. The idea of it horrifies me, the things I've written...Yikes. I'm terrified of the day I have to tell a boyfriend. Also I totally do the pretend phone call thing when I have to walk home from work so maybe people are less likely to kidnap me if they think I'm on the phone with someone
