No One Goes to the Applebees

One thing about Atlanta .....it has a LOT of restaurants. Since I'm "new" in town my friends have taken me to tons of the Atlanta "hot spots".....and I can tell you, not one of them was the Applebees.

I'm from a small town where the Applebees is a hopping spot on a Friday night. And I have nothing against it....I had my first of many dates there and it was the backdrop of many memories...it served me very well.

Dining in Atlanta is an event. It's an occassion and I love it. I already talked about the amazing Kevin Rathbun Steak but some of my other faves so far have been:

(which I unknowingly often refer to as Doc Martens instead....I struggle) has the freshest salads....and the best part is that it is within walking distance from my apartment! I plan on being really healthy one day and walking to the salad place....just call me Richard Simmons (actually don't. that would probably hurt my feelings!)

(which stands for "magic fingers" and not an inappropriate explitive. I know this because I asked). Best. sushi. ever. And the environment is so calming and elegant.

Another restaurant right across the street. Seriously, I live in the best part of town ever. Such a fun girlfriend place!
Grabbed lunch after church here with some friends one Sunday. I can best describe it as a fresher, yummier Atlanta Bread Company slash Cracker Barrel !

Taco Mac
The Taco Mac is just a fun place to go.....casual sports bar atmosphere and a good after-work hangout.

I could go on but....how interesting is it to read about restaurants you've never been to? So I want you to tell me
What's your all-time favorite restaurant?
(I will love you forever if you say the Applebees. Ha!) Ok, go!

All of these places sound great! I don't have a favorite restaurant. I'm not a fan of the chains. I love trying new restaurants.

There's this place in Durham, NC called Papa's Grille that's really really good! Also, on HHI there's Le Bistro (idk if you've been - it's reaaallly good), and of course Hinoki. I also really love Macaroni Grill. Okay, well you probably have realized from knowing me that i looooove food and restaurants, so i probably couldn't pick a single favorite. all the restaurants up there look great and your location sounds amazing! so jealous - i hope i can come visit soon:) happy wednesday!

i've never been but i would have to say any place that's named "magic fingers" wins in my book.

or any type of gourmet wiener place. or perhaps the chain called "BJ's" or "yank my noodle" which is actually called YankYeeNoodle.

i may be getting carried away...

OMG! I would love to visit that sushi place. I'm on a one month vacay in California. I haven't been to my little hometown in years. I left California about 11 years ago and moved to a different country. It's been ages I left. One of the things I love about visiting places is the chance to try different dishes, different restaurants. What was so surprising for me was the serving size of almost everything. I always ordered a small but ordering a size small here can already feed a family of 4 in the country I moved to. The portions here are soooooooooooooo big. But I am loving all the new dishes. Anyway, Have fun on your trip!

All of these places look and sound delicious! We don't have fancy restaurants like that though. The Applebees is definitely one of the "cool" restaurants!
