Feeling so Fly

Want to know a little-known fact about me? I LOVE to's one of my favorite things. From the layovers, to the chaczki airport shops to the acceleration of the plane on the runway as it escalates thousands of feet into the sky....I enjoy every second (unless I get stuck in a middle seat with an incessant kicker or unruly child behind me.....then it kind of sucks).

I think airports are so much fun....and in a way....cozy. It's the best place to people watch and experience so many cultures in one place. I love eavesdropping on conversations in which I have no idea what they're saying.
I contribute this love of flying to the fact that it must be in our grandpa worked for American Airlines his whole life and my dad has the same fascination with flying that I do....except that he'd rather be in the cockpit than in a passenger seat. He and my mom even went to LAX to watch planes take off as part of their first date. I've always loved that!

I almost entered into a flight attendant program in the fall of 2008 but the practical side of me came out when I realized that 6 months of unpaid training in Texas might not be my smartest move.Too bad....I really think I would have loved handing out peanuts and TV dinners In flight meals.

Today I'm in the mood to jump on a plane and go somewhere least by me. I plan on spending a rainy Sunday at the Atlanta airport one day soon but for now I'll let my imagination take to me to places I can't.
If you could go ANYWHERE today, where would you go?

Awww - I love airports too - and funny enough, I especially love them when I'm traveling somewhere alone, there's such a feeling of anticipation of getting wherever you're going! Thanks for sharing this it made me soooo happy :)

If I could go absolutely anywhere now, I would hop on a plane to Jordan, I've been wanting to travel there for sometime now and enjoy the arabic tea and the bazaars and the street cafes - someday!

I love airports for people watching too! It's THE best. I just don't like the actual sitting on the plane part because it's too cramped.

Sooo ... to answer your question ... there are a million places I would love to go. But since it's St. Patrick's Day, I'm going to go with Ireland.

The story of your parent's date is soooo sweet! I hope I have fun stories like that to tell my children one day.

Have a great day!

i love to fly too... which is weird because my sister HATES it, as most of my family does. i always wanted to be a flight attendant but then i remembered i don't like being away from people for that long, but i love the flying feeling. of my greatest airport memories was when my sister "accidentally" spilled her ice and we sat there and watched people maneuver around the spilled ice in their fits of hurry. it. was. hilarious.

now back to the question, if i could go anywhere, i'd probably choose bora bora. i've traveled a majority of the world before (spain, italy, africa, france, mexico, greece, england, and a thousand places in between) so bora bora sounds new and adventurous.

where would youuuu go?

I love flying, but definitely wouldn't be able to be in the air that often. Couldn't agree with you more about the middle seat. I sat between two Portuguese grandmothers on my way to Lisbon recently and the entire time they were trying to speak to me in Portuguese and I think set me up with a young gentleman who they kept waving a picture around of. Sorry grannies, the Boy is already Portuguese.

Tanzania would be my choice to climb Kilimanjaro!
Happy St. Patty's Day!

I LOVE airports! As long as I have money to spend I can spend hours happily having drinks, chatting to strangers, spending too much money in Duty Free. FUN!
