SWEAT

Hey Friends....So me and Lacey went to Bikram yoga (the first time for both of us) last night. Mother of Pearl Ya'll......I have never sweat that much in my life. And I'm a runner! I ran 11 miles on Saturday and still did not sweat as much as I did in those 60 minutes.

Unfortunately I'm not one of those girls that shimmers or glows when she sweats...I'm so jealous of girls that do. I pretty much have a full-on man-sweat. Grrrr...hotness I know. My fingers were actually pruny when class ended!

Here are some lessons I learned last night!

1. Bring MULTIPLE towels to class...The biggest problem I had was not doing the poses but holding them...my mat was like a freaking slip and slide.

2. Do not wear a light colored or sheer top thinking the lighter layer will keep you cool....after all the sweating you will essentially be naked by the end of class....and yes, it's awkward.

3. As crazy as this may sound, bring a running coat. When you walk out from a 98 degree room into the gym FULL of people, it will feel like Christmas outside...you catch my drift ladies?

4. Cool Towels: When they hand out the cooling towels at the end of class....you can use them. The instructor just dropped it in my hand and it was a total tease.....was I free to use it? Were we going to use it in the next part of class? I didn't want to be that girl that had prematurely used her lavender-scented-cooling-towel....I took a peak at the girl next to me and saw she had draped hers over her face. I took that as my moment to use mine.

5. Get a pedicure and don't wear granny panties....You do a lot of  looking straight ahead in yoga. Be kind to the person behind you who may be looking at yours ;)

6. Unless you are a pretty-glow-sweater-type that I'm jealous of....don't make plans afterwards. We had to cancel dinner with the guys because we didn't really look restaurant-appropriate for anything beyond the Sonic....which is a glorified drive-through

But at the end of it all...I felt GREAT. I definitely encourage you all to try HOT yoga! Lacey and I are going again on Sunday and I'm excited!

Love love love the pointers... I always feel super awkward the first time I take any kind of class.

My friend took her hubs to bikram once, and he thought it was sooo hard (and he's a pro athlete). I loved that!

Great tips! I love the one about getting a pedicure---that was totally my hot yoga realization to! There is nothing worse than staring at your toes that look terrible for an hour and a half! :)
