10 in O-10

Instead of doing a month-by-month recap of the year like I did for 2009, I decided to list 10 of my favorite things from 2010 becuase, let's face it, I've been a busy girl and that would be a LOOOONG post!

1. Races - Though I officially ran my first race in December of 2009, it was this year that I really fell into running. I've run four 5ks this year and am in training for a half marathon in early Spring. That's right - I'm totally jumping from 3.1 miles to 13.1 - no big. I'm up to nine miles and hopefully going to tackle 10 this weekend.

2. Travel - I have been like a pinball across the Southeast this year. I've travelled to Nashville, Charlotte, Charleston, Savannah, Columbia, Tybee, Greenville and Atlanta more times than I can count...and I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few stops. And in the process of all this travel, fell even more in love with Atlanta. When people tell me they "hate Atlanta" as many have, I think I feel a little pinch in my heart. It's pretty much the best city!

3. The end of school - I finally finished all my pre-req courses in July. And though I didn't get into the sonography program I was hoping for, I shed LOTS of tears am so glad that my nights don't revolve around physics and antomy and physio after a nine-hour work day anymore! But I have to say that even though physics was a torturous thorn in my side, anatomy and physiology kindof rocked and I did enjoy regularly learning again after nearly two years of being out of school.

4. Blogging - Though I've had "Run With Me" for nearly two years now, it really "came out of the closet" this year and I've so enjoyed meeting new friends and sharing my life with you guys. I feel like I have close, AMAZING friends all across the globe these days!

5. New Friends - With all the traveling I've done, I've definitely had the chance to meet some people.....some have remained acquintances but some have grown into good great friends!

6. The Gym - Though I was a little oppossed to relinquish my open road and trap my free-spirit in the walls of a gym (Please hold while I go throw on my daisy chain headband and tie-dye shirt), I have grown to love the gym. It pretty much is the highlight of most of my days. I love going there to de-stress from the day's work before heading home. I've done a couple training sessions which were awesome and actually met people through going there....not to mention the fact that I am more than mildly-entertained daily by the gym outfits people wear!

7. Emmalyn - Kayla was the first of my friends to get married. She was also the first to have a baby. The day Emmalyn was born was quite possibly the longest of my life. ...hours would go by as we waited for updates (although I'm pretty sure Kayla had it worse). Even though I haven't been able to see her that much since she's waaaaaay down in Alabama, I enjoy getting regular picture updates and am so excited that in less than a month, they are moving to Columbia and will be only two short hours away!

8. Family Time - If you haven't picked up on it by now, I love being with my family. We've had so much fun together this year whether it's been watching football games, meeting up at the grocery store to buy produce (yes, this actually happened), grabbing spontaneous dinners after work together or afternoon shopping excursions, we have a good time together.

9. Events- This year has been full of exciting events, some new adventures, some repeat things that are just fun to do. Baseball games with the girls, Fashion shows, football games, girl's nights, festivals, casting calls, cooking, lake days, beach days, stay-cations, midnight bowling....it's been a year!

10. The End of 2010 - Even though this year has been filled with many fun adventures, I'm glad to see it end and  new year begin - a new year that I'm hoping holds a LOT of change! I'm excited about 2011 and can't wait to share some of my "resolutions" in an upcoming post!

What was your favorite moment in 2010?!

Great post! Good luck on training for your half marathon. Thats awesome girl! I'm running my fourth 5k race on New Years Day! I'm a newbie to running, so I'll probably do a lot more 5k's this year and train harder. I'd like to do a half marathon one day! I love me some ATL too! Its a great city to visit. Looks like you kept pretty busy in 2010. Can't wait to read your next post! Happy New Year :)
