The Mondays after a holiday are SO HARD...I think I actually heard my body laugh at me this morning when my alarm clock went off and demanded it get out of bed at 5:45. I of course went through the "what can be eliminated" from my morning routine process....but after deciding that hair-washing and getting dressed were actually essentials, reluctantly left my cozy bed.

The long holiday was soooo nice....and very much needed. The festivities started Wednesday night with a surprise party for a friend.

Like I mentioned, my sister and I started a new tradition by running in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. There were over 1,500 particpants. We placed somewhere in the 400s....not too bad....and it was a early fun way to  start the day.

Please excuse how horrid I look in this picture....someone was in need of a shower!

The rest of Thanksgiving was spent at mom and dad's....watching the parade, eating and watching movies.
Please love this picture of me faux-cooking with my mom. I really did not participate in any cooking....for which everyone was thankful.

Me and my favorite girls.

Me & Dad

Since everyone was working Friday and not available to Black Friday shop, I decided to get a good run in and to really push myself. I ended up going 6.5 miles in 59 minutes! One of my 2011 Goals is to run a half marathon...I keep trying to tell myself it's just four 5ks back-to-back but so far, that hasn't been working. I was glad to make it at least half-way of a half!

I set out all ambitious again on Saturday but my run got caught short by a scaly some of you may know, we have a neighborhood alligator who is pretty much the Al Pacino of the pond my running trail encircles. I was on about mile 3 when I saw him emerge from the pond onto the bank. Ya'll I do not know what he has been eating, but that gator has GROWN. He is large and in charge! After watching him gobble something up on the bank, I figured he was probably hungry and since death by alligator is not on the top of my list, I turned my little running self around....only after I snapped a picture. (Trust me, I had to zoom this picture like 10 times to even make him out...that's how far away I was.)

Saturday night we watched the Gameocks beat Clemson which will put them in Atlanta next weekend vying for the title of SEC Champs!

Sunday was a Christmas extravaganza.....the "tree" went up, presents were wrapped, the sugar cookie candle lit to give the illusion of baking and the TV didn't change from cheesey Fa-La-La-La Lifetime movies.
The extremely crooked baby tree.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Any fun traditions? Or new ones?
